Welcome to Camp Lagunazo (Great Lake Camp)
A Summer residential co-ed camp in Venezuela
General
Information
Camp Lagunazo was founded in 1994 by two Keewaydin* Camp ex-campers in Tinaquillo, Venezuela. While at Camp, each Lagunazo camper is placed in a cabin group with others of the same age and sex. A counselor lives with each group of campers and supervises all facets of the Camp experience. Time is set aside each day to enjoy the cabin choice programs with options as limitless as the interests of the campers in each cabin. Lagunazo offers campers a three week traditional Summer Camp experience. Campers may also stay for shorter periods of time (one and two weeks). All of the cabins have air conditioning and hot water. On sundays non-obligatory catholic mass is held inside the camp. A great lake surrounded by pine trees is our pride. In it you will find canoes, sport fishing and water skiing. Lots of horses, big and small mountain bikes, high rope exercises, pottery, painting, a tennis and basketball court and many other sports and activities. |

Safety
Lagunazo is staffed by a Medical Student (only one year away from graduation) or by a registered nurse 24 hours a day during the Summer Camp season. All medications are kept in our dispensary. No medicine is administered without going through the campers file where we check for allergies and recommended medicines. Unless otherwise instructed we give each camper 500Mg of Vitamin C on a daily basis. Our medical team is available to meet the health needs of each child throughout their stay. In the event of an emergency, the Clinica Dr. Rafael Guerra Mendez is only 45 minutes away. Most of our counselors are CPR certified each year. In order to canoe or swim in the lake campers must use a life vest (we have over 95) and pass a swimming test. |
Parents
We offer parents the possibility to see what the kids are doing during summer. Every three to four days digitalized photos of activities are posted on the web page so parents can see them. Also a short written commentary on activities. Each time anything is posted all parents who submitted e-mail will receive a notification of new pictures or information on the page (only during summer) |

We have always had Venezuelan counselors but we would like the experience of working with english speaking counselors. If interested please fill on-line application counsellor application form (answers in english are accepted) (some knowledge of spanish is necessary) please send a digitized picture by e-mail and include name and birth date on this mail.
